Contrast measurement
What is a contrast measurement?
Normally, vision is checked with a vision test. The smaller you can read the letters, the better the score. In this test, you often score 100%, even with keratoconus.
In a contrast test, the letters do not become smaller, but increasingly gray. If you have keratoconus, the score will never reach 100%. This test provides a much more delicate account of your visual performance, corrected or uncorrected. You can also determine from the test results how your vision is under less favorable light conditions. The Keratoconus Center in the Netherlands uses an automated contrast test, which guarantees objectivity.
Measuring contrast sensitivity is only useful if you can improve it by making a correction. Keratoconus Glasses and Contact Lenses with Conepower technology are only available at the Keratoconus Center in the Netherlands.
Improvements achieved by Keratoconus Glasses and/or Contact Lenses with Conepower technology can be determined very precisely by measuring the contrast sensitivity.
