In 2020, Chr\u00e9tien Frambach started the Keratoconus Center Netherlands. He developed the Conepower\u00ae technology. The optical addition of Conepower\u00ae technology to hard and soft keratoconus contact lenses creates the possibility of better correction of keratoconus. Together with the contact lens manufacturer UCO, these lenses were developed and have been in practice since 2021. <\/p>\n
In the practice, we work with I-Trace from Tracey Technologies.This technology makes it possible to simulate how patients with keratoconus see. The I-Trace measurement ensures that caregiver and patient understand each other better. Partly because of this, it becomes possible to perform the eye measurement better. Also, the measurements are used to equip scleral lenses with Conepower\u00ae technology.<\/p>\n
In 2023, the Keratoconus Center Netherlands entered into a partnership with Shamir. This glass manufacturer supplies high-quality lenses (standard thin, more options, if necessary with extra high cylinder). <\/p>\n
We hope to introduce a special measurement set of a new type of lens in 2025, which will allow us to correct optically at an even higher quality.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Cooperation with ophthalmologists:<\/strong> Keratoconus can also progress, making it very important for young patients to have it monitored by the ophthalmologist. Thus, if progression occurs, the ophthalmologist can treat the cornea with corneal crosslinking to stop the progression. <\/p>\n Furthermore, patients with keratoconus have sensitive eyes and often suffer from allergies. \nThe Keratoconus Center Netherlands works closely with referring ophthalmologists. Through extensive reporting, the treating ophthalmologist is kept informed of the findings. This allows our center to make an excellent contribution to better care for patients with keratoconus. <\/p>\n
\nWhen someone comes into the practice on referral or on their own initiative, we consider which vision solution is the best fit. We have a wide range of contact lens options that can be fitted, depending on the degree of keratoconus. The Keratoconus Center Netherlands is also a specialist in prescribing lenses.
