That depends entirely on the degree of keratoconus and the visual impairment that this causes. The CBR states that you should be able to read a license plate about 25 meters away. For a vision test, this means that you must be able to achieve a vision of at least 0.5 with both eyes. Someone with keratoconus often has much less trouble with blurred vision during the day. At night, vision can be much worse, so that despite a vision of 0.5, it is not responsible to drive a car.<\/p>\n<h2>Symptoms of Keratoconus That Make Driving Difficult<\/h2>\n<p>If you have keratoconus, you may experience the following symptoms:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Blurred vision<\/li>\n<li>Seeing double with one eye and sometimes with both eyes<\/li>\n<li>distorted vision<\/li>\n<li>Hypersensitivity to light<\/li>\n<li>Headache<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What can make driving difficult?<\/h2>\n<p>Any of the symptoms listed above could cause you to experience glare from headlights or sunlight. You can no longer see the traffic properly due to the dazzling of headlights or sunlight. This can create dangerous situations.<\/p>\n<h2>Good treatment and regular monitoring<\/h2>\n<p>To reassure you: with good treatment you will not go blind. With demonstrable progression of the keratoconus, your ophthalmologist may perform corneal crosslinking. There are also sufficient types of contact lenses available for the correction of keratoconus and nowadays even keratoconus glasses.
