Many keratoconus patients would like glasses because they do not want to be completely dependent on contact lens correction, and contact lenses also sometimes cause irritation to the eyes.<\/p>\n
Various studies have shown that contact lenses correct keratoconus better than glasses. The Keratoconus Center Netherlands conducted research on the effect of eyeglass lenses in keratoconus. Of all eye measurements in 2022 on 123 patients, vision with glasses improved in 92% of all measurements. In 85% of all measurements, the result met the CBR requirements for driving with glasses. <\/p>\n
Characteristic of someone with keratoconus is vision difference between the eyes. A lower vision of the eye with the most keratoconus is only experienced as disturbing by a few. It is therefore important that the overall picture of the spectacle correction is assessed. In fact, our brains are able to improve sharp vision and especially the amount of perceived shadows and double images by looking with both eyes at the same time.<\/p>\n
