This lens is so named because it is fitted to the sclera (white of the eye). This makes it possible to bridge the cornea.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Scleral lenses rest on the sclera and do not touch the cornea; thus, a touch-free fit is achieved. The sensitive tip of the cone cannot be damaged by the scleral lens.  Due to the size of this lens, the edges sit well below the eyelids, so the edges are barely felt.<\/p>\n<p>Keratoconus Center Netherlands&#8217; scleral lenses are optically improved with <a title=\"Conepower technologie\" href=\"https:\/\/www.keratoconuscentrumnederland.nl\/en\/cone-power-technology\/\">Conepower technology\u00ae<\/a>. An ordinary scleral lens causes typical shadows at the top of letters after correction of keratoconus.
