Keratoconus is an eye condition that manifests itself during puberty in most people. Because it is not immediately clear that you have keratoconus in the eyes, it is often a guess at the beginning where the reduced vision, the sensitivity to light and the eye fatigue are coming from. Because young adults in puberty are naturally busy with school and\/or study and also look a lot on their laptop or smartphone, the eyes get tired quickly anyway. So it seems quite normal for the eyes to feel tired. Certainly, because that habituation is already there, it is difficult to determine whether keratoconus is the cause of that fatigue. This gradual increase in symptoms is one of the reasons for a late diagnosis of keratoconus.<\/p>\n
Keratoconus and eye fatigue are often mentioned in the same breath. That makes sense if you know that you have to make an effort to see well in poor visibility. If you have to do that all day without noticing, it is of course very tiring.
